Tunnel along IB: BSF waiting for an opportunity to lodge strong protest | | | early times report jammu, July 29 : A day after detecting the long tunnel in village Cheec-hwal in Samba sector the BSF authorities are waiting for the first opportunity to lodge a strong protest with their Pak counterparts during the flag meeting. Till now the Pak rangers have chose to ignore the messages sent across by their BSF counterparts to hold flag meeting. Surprisingly, the same Pak rangers who smilingly come across the border and share pleasantries with BSF men were heard showering choicest explicit on their Indian counterparts when the digging work was in progress in the forward border village of Cheechwal on Saturday. According to senior BSF officers they were surprised to see Pak rangers coming close to the barbed wire fence and using abusive language to convey their message and direct the BSF to stop digging work. As the BSF men went on to unravel the mystery of 20 feet deep tunnel the Pakistani rangers were left speechless as they were totally exposed. SSP Samba Israr Khan told visiting team of media persons after visiting the tunnel site, the BSF men have recovered long plastic pipes from inside the tunnel and the same was probably used to supply fresh oxygen to workers while digging work was on in a planned manner. The senior police officer also raised some questions about the modus operandi of the workers while carrying out the digging work. Khan said the digging work was probably facilitated by the Pak border post located on the same axis on the other side of the border. Meanwhile, the BSF and the state police has increased vigil all along the border and keeping track of the suspicious movement of people and caved in portions close to the International border. |
