VHP, BD hold protest against blast in pilgrims' vehicle | | | early times report RAJOURI, July 29: Vishaw Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal (BD) and other right wing Hindu organi-sations today held a massive protest against state government and showed strong objection to the killings of three Amarnath yatris during a blast yesterday afternoon in Zirpora area of Bijbehara town of Anantnag district . The protest was lead by VHP District Rajouri President Satpal Sharma, Bajrang Dal District President Karan Thakur and other senior chairpersons of right wing Hindu organisations. During their protest hundreds of activists of right wing Hindu organisations gathered on Jammu-Poonch highway and blocked the road thereby paralysing traffic for hours. Chanting slogans against state government and Governor of state these protestors alleged that yesterday's suspicious blast in which three pilgrims died while five sustained injuries was not a cylinder blast but was a well planned militant strike and police statement of cylinder blast is misguiding common masses. Bajrang Dal and Vishaw Hindu Parishad termed that blast as IED blast and flayed statement of cylinder blast and alleged that the incident is due to complete failure of government and concerned authorities to provide full proof protection to pilgrimage. "This was a militant strike over the pilgrimage which is highly condemnable and killing of three pilgrims is so unfortunate" said a senior chairperson of VHP. "Authorities failed to maintain security for this yatra while it was a well planned militant strike over the yatra which will never be bear by us" they said. Later these leaders called off the protest while warned state government to have dire consequences if any such incident happens in future. |
