| KC Public School Children launches tree plantation drive | | | early times report
jammu, July 30 : KC Public School today launched a plantation drive to create awareness among children about environment and surrounding. About 60 students of Green Brigade Club planted trees on a pre-determined location on the banks of the river Tawi.
To involve the children in this drive, the school administration sought cooperation of the Department of Social Forestry, Govt of J&K and the Municipal Corporation Jammu also arranged a tree plantation programme for them on July 30.
Official spokesperson stated that saplings were provided by the Department of Social Forestry were planted with technical guidance of the officials of the Department who also advised the students about care and nurture of the freshly planted saplings. Each student was also presented with a sapling to be planted at home. Vikram Grewal of class XI delivered a speech on the occasion, highlighting human responsibility in the conservation of nature on the planet Earth. |
