| DDC inspects facilities at Bhawan, Banganga for Vaishno Devi pilgrims | | Directs for regulating pony services | | Early Times Report
KATRA, July 30 : District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Nirmal Sharma today visited Chetek Bhawan, Banganga road Katra to take stock of facilities being provided to the pilgrims coming from different parts of the country to the holy Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ji .Accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police, Raghubir Singh, she reviewed the pony and pithu transportation facilities for the pilgrims at Chetek Bhawan and emphasized the need for providing maximum comforts to the pilgrims. She warned the operators against charging exorbitant rates from the pilgrims and underlined the need to dispense best available services to the pilgrims. Laying stress on allied facilities and amenities to the pilgrims, the DDC reiterated that the rate list should be displayed prominently at Chetek Bhawan. She also stressed for foolproof maintaining hygienic conditions in the vicinity. She also stressed for regulating pithu pony services for the pilgrims from already established checking booths.During her visit, the DDC also interacted with the pilgrims and enquired about the rates charged by pony walas. On the occasion, she issued strict instructions to the officers of municipality to keep a strict vigil on pony and pithu walas to check overcharging from the yatris. Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, S. Rajinder Singh Tara, Additional SP, Katra, Mohan Lal, Executive Officer, Municipality Katra, Naib Tehsildar, Katra, Food Safety Officer and officers from KDA also accompanied DDC during the visit. |
