| Indo-Pak tunnel construction 'Intelligence Failure': BJP | | | early times report
JAMMU, July 30: BJP today dubbed as "serious intelligence failure" on the part of the UPA government the construction of 400-mt-long tunnel from Pakistan side into India in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba sector.
"The UPA government is accused of serious intelligence failure as it has not been able to detect the construction of underground tunnel by Pakistan Rangers on the International Border close to Samba," BJP state president Shamsher Singh Manhas told reporters here today. The BJP leader said, "it is surprising that the tunnel could not be detected even though the work of digging and construction had got carried up to over 300 meters within Indian territory.""It was fortuitous that the roof of the tunnel gave in due to rains and the mischief of Pakistan saw light of the day," he said, adding the "dangerous" potential for this tunnel for playing with the security and safety of the Indian people could not be understated.
