200 bags 'FCI rice' seized in a raid at Rice Mill | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 30: Chatha police seized 200 bags rice of Food Corporation of India (FCI) in a raid that was conducted in Mahajan Rice Mill, Chatha here today. A massive hunt was launched to arrest the accused (mill owner) absconding the arrest. Police sources said that following a specific reports that rice meant for public distribution being transported to a private mill for sale in the black market on Monday night, a special police team was constituted and raided the mill. "During the searches these bags, the police recovered rice bags with brand mark of FCI, that were freshly being filled in new bags bearing new trade mark for their sale in the open market.' SP South Rajeshwer Singh when contacted said that the owner of the mill namely Manish Mahajan son of Balak Ram Mahajan of Govindpura Chatha was booked under section 406,409,411 RPC under FIR NO152/2012 and a man hunt is on to arrest him.
