PHE Employees Asso holds protest: Highlights demands

Jammu, July 30: PHE workers today staged a protest at Office of Chief Engineer PHE Complex B.C Road, Jammu under the banner of PHE Workers Welfare Association in support of the long pending legitimate demands.
The protesting employees led by trade unionists and leaders said they are continuing protest in support of their long pending legitimate demands of the employees such as release of back log wages of the workers, the wages to all the PHE workers be disbursed before 5th of every month regularly. Other demands highlighted during the protests included the transfers of the 4th class employees be done at section level instead of sub-division level and all the workers who have completed 5 years tenure be regularized etc.
In the protest demonstration the angry workers has shown great resentment against the PHE authority which has failed to disburse the wages of temporary workers. The protest demonstration was organized under the leadership of Bakshi Singh Provincial President of the association who in his address said that the authority concerned and the State Government is playing with the sentiments of the daily rated workers. He further added there is standing minimum wage order and the workers have to pay Rs. 125/- per day but the same is not being implemented in letter and spirit on ground. He alleged that the workers are being harassed and they are being behaved like founded labourer by the authority concerned. He demanded regular wages of the workers and the same be paid before 5th of every month so that the workers be able to per for their duties comfortably.
Subash Verma Provincial General Secretary of the association said that a notice regarding the demands of the employees was served to the authority concerned but the same has not responded. He warned the authority concerned that if the wages of the workers has not been paid before Raksha Bandhan the association will be forced to intensity the struggle and the authority concerned will be held responsible for the consequences.
Rattan Doshi, Vijay Singh, Surinder Kumar, Chuni Lal, Babu Singh, Ajit Singh and Lal Chand also spoke on the occasion..
