DD Thakur’s Death Condoled

Today the people of J&K paid rich tribute to former Governor Assam Justice DD Thakur, who died yesterday.
At the cremation ground Chief Minister J&K Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad and his cabinet ministers were present whereas the Judges of the State High Court including First Pusine Judge Justice NA Kakroo, Justice YP Nargotra, Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain, Justice Mansoor Ahmed Mir, Justice JP Singh and former judges of the High Court Justice GD Sharma, Justice OP Sharma, Justice SK Gupta and other Presiding officers of the Subordinate Courts were present and Judges from the Delhi High Court Justice HR Malhotra, Justice Kailash Gambhir and Leader of Opposition Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather.
Chief Justice State High Court BA Khan who is at present New-Delhi has condole the death of DD Thakur, said that the death of Justice DD Thakur termed as a great loss the legal community and the people of the State. In his condolence message from Delhi Chief Justice said that it was with a deep sense of grief and sorrow that he had learnt about the sad demise of Mr. DD Thakur Former Governor of Assam, Former Deputy Chief Minister of J&K State and Judge of J&K High Court. Terming him as a brilliant counsel, a fearless judge and an honest and able administrator, Justice Khan further said that Thakur was a multi-dimensional personality and an institution by himself. From humble beginning, he had scaled the greatest heights in life. His construction in the fields of law and administration would be ever remembered and recorded in annul of history.
Chief Justice BA Khan further said that it was difficult to catalogue Mr. Thakur’s qualities and achievements, but what immediately came to his mind was that he was a brave and courageous person who valiantly faced challenges in his life and equally defied it for several years by his share determination and will power in a never to say die attitude. Justice Khan further said that it was sad that he had to give up and succumb ultimately. Chief Justice BA Khan termed Thakur’s death at his personal loss too. He said, his death had created huge void which was difficult to be filled up for many-many years to come. He said that a felt over-whelmed with grief on DD Thakur’s death which whom he had been closely associated for years. JNF
