`Think ahead of RTI, PSGA, Panchay at elections' | No more boasting please! | | Early Times Report srinagar, July 30: National Conference today directed the rank and file of the party to be vigilant and give befitting reply to mischievous elements involved in malicious propaganda against the party. Addressing a workers meeting at Nawa-i-Subh Complex, Party's Additional General Secretary Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal said the coalition Government under dynamic leadership of Omar Abdullah has given the best governance in the State and the State is progressing in all spheres of life. There is no denying the fact that the NC led coalition extended the RTI Act, held Panchayati elections and gave the Public service Guarantee Act but, can all this paper work be termed development. A student of media in Kashmir University has kept a track of NC's statements/speeches since last year. According to him, the party has boasted of holding Panchayat elections, RTI Act and the Public Service Guarantee Act 300 times. What is visible on the ground? After Ghulam Muhammad Shah's regime, the people are on the roads to protest shortage of electricity and potable water for the first time. This is how things have moved during Omar led coalition. Kamaal said the National Conference had been working for fulfilling the dreams of Sher-e-Kashmir. Kamaal is right. Sher-e-Kashmir's only dream was power and he got it. The National Conference, political circles believe can go to any extent for power. Kamaal accused PDP of extending AFSPA to the State. He also expressed his determination to repeal the law. While repeal of AFSPA at the hands of NC seems a distant dream, a PDP activist has a question for Kamaal. Who extended POTA and who created Special Operations Group (SOG)? |
