| Filling Station charged 10 paisa excess per liter | | DCF held unfair trade practice | | Jammu | Feb 4
In a complaint filed by Ranbir Singh Manhas of a Matador got desiel filed from a Jasbir filling station Roop Nagar Jammu @ 19.35 paisa per liter against the price per liter was 19.25 per liter on that day May 31, 2003.
Divisional Consumer Forum Jammu comprising Mr. SL Pandita as President and Mrs. Meenu Sharma member after hearing both the sides and considering the facts of the case keeping in view the nature and circumstances of the case and considering the fact that an amount of Rs 3.60 paisa has been charged by the filling station amounts to deficiency in service and unfair trade practice and allowed the complaint and a consolidated sum of rupees 2000/- inclusive of mental harassment and agony monetary loss compensation and litigation charges are awarded in favour of the complainant with the direction to the filling station owner that amount shall be deposited within 30 days failing which interest @ 6 % shall accrue on this amount from the date of complaint July 29, 2003 till realization.
