| JKDF demands compensation for road widening work | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 31: The rural wing of Jammu Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF) held a meeting to highlight the sufferings of villagers of Alora, Sohanjana, Bhorichack and Prahladpur at village Alora under the chairmanship of Madan Lal Bhagat.
In the meeting, the villagers expressed their concern regarding road widening work carried out by the contractor under the nose of influential National Conference leader and some goons in village Nikki Tawi to Makwal camp.
The compensation for construction work of widening of road by 20' diameter stands released 38 years ago while the road is further going to be upgraded by widening to 40' diameter (20' extra).
Deepak Sharma, District President Rural JKDF demanded, immediate release of the compensation by PWD agency for widening of road for additional 20' diameter.
He also demanded compensation for damages being done to the standing crops as the contractor is dumping garbage at the site causing huge loss to the farmers of the villages where the work is taken in hand for last one and half month thereby raising the burden on State exchequer as the work on same road is taken over by GREF organisation. The said contractor should be put to task for such unlawful act.
He also demanded immediate release of water in Baddi Tawi as the same is blocked by the PWD agency for the construction of Bridge at Bhagwati Nagar. |
