Historic Chhari Mubarak reaches Budha Amarnath

POONCH, July 31: Amidst Chanting of "Bam Bam Bhole" by devotees, the holy silver mace of Lord Shiva left for Budha Amarnath Shrine in Mandi from Dashnami Akhara, Poonch early this morning,
Nearly 30,000 people from all walks of life attended the grand religious procession.
Led by Shri Shri 1008 Rajguru Swami Vishawatma Nand Saraswati Maharaj, a large number of devotees and Sadhus participated in the Chhari Mubarak yatra.
After passing through various areas enroute the Amarnath shrine, the holy mace reached the Budha Amarnath Temple at 3:30 pm.
The pilgrims accompanying the Chhari Mubarak were offered eatables at various places, where various organizations had erected stalls for the yatris. Earlier thousands of people drawn from all walks of life gave a rousing reception to Swami Ji at Poonch Dashnami Akhara. The Chhari Mubarak left the Akhara amidst chanting of Bam Bam Bhole. MP Lal Singh walked on foot thorough out the yatra with Swami Ji.
Addressing a mammoth gathering of devotees, Swami Ji stressed for maintaining communal harmony and amity on the occasion of Budha Amarnath yatra. Swami ji praised the people of Poonch for displaying their secularism during the yatra.
On the occasion, Chhari Mubarak was presented guard of honour by J&K Police. Earlier a Pooja Hawan was also performed at Akhara building under the supervision of Swami Ji.
The function among others was attended by Ch. Lal Singh Member Parliament, Minister for Power Shabir Khan, MLA Poonch, Ajaz Ahmed Jan, ADDC Poonch, Anwar Hussain Shah, SSP Poonch Shamsher Hussain, ASP Yougal Manhas, Mohd Zaman Advocate, Brig M.K Maggo, Advocate Sanjay Raina, BJP leader Satish Sasan, President Sanatan Dharam Sabha Poonch, Manjit Kumar, President Dashnami Akhara, Mohammed Zaman, chairman Human Rights Committee and Yash Paul Sharma a prominent leader of the area.
Swami Ji was taken into a Palki from Akhara Mandir. The authorities had made elaborate security and other arrangements for the yatris enroute.
The stalls were opened at different places by different organizations for pilgrims. More than 50,000 people have had darshan of holy Shiv lingam from the start of yatra since July 21 Nishu Gupta, President VHP said, "This year, the yatra has broken all previous records and till now, nearly 50,000 pilgrims visited this shrine upto this day of Chhari Yatra." adding that still two days have left and it is hoped more rush would converge on Sawan Purnima.
