early times report
Jammu, July 31 : There is brewing resentment among the Kashmiri Pandits against the Irregularities allotment of quarters and relief authorities failure to rectify the mistakes.
The various organizations of Kashmiri Pandits are up in arms against the relief organization and some politicians who in order to benefit their blue eyed boys got the list manipulated by ignoring genuine and deserving migrants.
These KP organizations have decided to expose all those officials in relief organization and the political leaders who have given preference to some influential people in place of deserving migrants. Terming the recently released allotment list totally unjustified they said how the people suffering from some chronic and life consuming diseases where neglected and those migrants who were preferably in better conditions than them were given prefential treatment. They said it is a cause of concern that one Makhan Lal from Tral who has undergone multiple surgeries and is suffering from heart ailment was not considered for allotment of quarter and his application was turned down while instead of 58 families putting up in police quarter Channi 109 allotments have been made. The migrant leaders want to know which are these additional 51 families who got undue benefit from Relief Organization and why not a breast cancer patient living in a rented accommodation and a blind person whose family is totally dependent on relief were ignored though they have in time applied for the allotment of quarters. The relief organization has also come under severe criticism for not considering the valley pandits for PMs employment package this time. The representatives of these Pandits accused the relief organization of betraying the valley Pandits who despite facing all odds and stayed in Kashmir valley during last 23 years of turmoil. They said these Pandits had also to leave their homes and hearths and migrate to security zones in valley on the directives of government after the Wandhama and Nadimarg massacres. They said a different analogy was adopted by relief organization this time in making appointment for migrant youth in various departments than previous time though Pandits putting up in valley have no better economic condition than their brethren who were forced to migrate in 1989-90.
