Relief Commissioner ignores facts, lives in delusion | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 31: Even after a about a week the Relief Commissioner has not deemed it fit for re-allocation of Jagti flats even as resentment is brewing up among Kashmiri Pandits and continuous protests are just a symptomatic of the anger. The Relief Commissioner by not issuing even a formal statement, except talking to some media person rather on being forced, is living in a delusion. The Commissioner in his delusion continues to believe that a small protests here or there will die down eventually and he will have his away. However, this delusion is not only against reality but could also cost him his job, from which he is alleged to have profited by arbitrary allotment. The protesting KPs have a point that allotment has been made in an arbitrary manner and claims of the genuine have been ignored. The have pointed factual errors in the list by pointing that persons allotted flats while living in police quarters by saying that their number is more than the actual realistic figure. It's just a tip of iceberg of the complaints., which on being further substantiated with the proof could expose the hallow claims of the genuineness of the list. It's also surprising that the Minister heading the department has also remained silent on this issue, though he leaves no stone unturned to show his sympathy and concern for the KPs. A few more protests and Centre would be forced to come into picture and would order an inquiry into the genuineness of the list and fix officials on finding wrong doings. It's because the money has been provided by the Centre, and its not a small amount. The Centre already facing flak on many issues can't afford to let this issue blow out on national scene as it has the potential of giving leverage to the opposition to flak it especially with the Monsoon session approaching. It's in the interest of the Relief Commissioner that he accepts the facts of this faults and takes corrective measure immediately before things could slip out of his hand and no in-visible hand, from who he had profited, would be in the position to back him. |
