Rs. 8 crore earmarked for Degree College Khode | Dy CM asks officers to offer employability courses to the students | | early times report SRINAGAR, Aug 1: Land acquisition process of Degree College Khode has been accelerated and construction work on the building would be started shortly for which Rs. 8 crore have been earmarked in first phase. This information was given to the Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand while reviewing the progress of the project at a meeting here today. Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Gani Malik was also present on the occasion. Deputy Chief Minister asked concerned officers to coordinate with the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu and ensure that land, identified for the purpose, is transferred to the Education Department for starting construction work early. He said revenue authorities have already been instructed to ensure early transfer of land to the Education Department. Tara Chand asked the concerned officers to offer those courses which have employability so that students cannot face any difficulty in getting the job after completing the studies. Malik said that tendering process has been started while the blue print of the building has been prepared and handed over to R&B department for execution. It was given out that temporary arrangements have already been made and college is functioning at Hr. Secondary School building while admission process has also been started in the college. The Deputy Chief Minister was told that efforts are on to start next academic session in new building. |
