NPSU demands inquiry into assault on JU student leader

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 1: Peaceful environment of Jammu University was once again disturbed by some mischievous elements that forcefully infiltrated the varsity campus and allegedly attacked one of the students of Buddhist department.
According to sources, the victim student has been identified as Virender Singh, who is also president National Panthers Students Union (NPSU), Jammu University wing.
Virender Singh received grievous injuries and was admitted in Government Medical College, Jammu vide MLC No. 3316.
Early morning some outsiders stopped Virender Singh near cafeteria they used an abused language and attacked him with sharp edged weapons due which he was critically wounded.
Singh demanded immediate inquiry into the incident and stern action against these outsiders for assaulting him. He warned that if action against these outsiders will not be taken, NPSU would launch a protest against the authorities with in two days.
