College Teachers Association expresses gratitude to Minister | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 2 :President, J&K College Teachers Association (Jammu wing), Dr Avinash Kumar Guptahas expressed gratitude to the Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Gani Malik, whose untiring efforts have resulted in creation of 1129 posts of Assistant Professors for Govt. Degree College of the state. Approval for these posts was extended by the State cabinet yesterday and is unprecedented in the history of Higher Education Department as, such a large number of posts were neither created nor approved in one go. This move shall not only address the problems of student community but also give an employment opportunity to the eligible & highly educated youth of the state, who otherwise were employed as contractual lecturers on modest salaries.College Teachers Association had been time and again emphasizing for removal of Ad-hocism in Teaching and expects a reduced dependence on contractual employment shall result in availability of more funds for Infrastr uctural development in the colleges, which shall go a long way in lifting educational standards. Further, more permanent faculty in the colleges shall also have a synergetic effect for the Post Graduate progr ammes in the colleges. |
