Better road connectivity pivotal for boosting economy of J&K: Mir | Construction of bridges worth Rs 9.42 crore in progress | | Early Times Report TANGMARG, Aug 2 : Saying that better road connectivity is pivotal for boosting the economy of the J&K, Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir today directed the executing agencies to complete all under construction bridges and roads with in the targeted period to benefit the people of the area at the earliest. The Minister gave this direction during his day long tour to different areas of the Tangmarg constituency to take on the spot assessment of construction works of bridges and roads. At Goigam, the Minister was informed that Goigam- Budran bridge would be handed over by ending September 2012 which is being constructed at an cost of Rs 2.37 crore by JKPCC. While as Hardbani- Manglora bridge would also be completed by end of November this year. Which is being constructed at an cost of Rs 5.50crores by JKPCC. The Minister said that people of the area are waiting anxiously for their completion and after completion of these prestigious bridges would benefit large chunk of population of the area. The Minister also took stock of construction work of Kharhama- Kharpora bridge which is being constructed at an cost of Rs 1.55crore. He was informed that the bridge is almost complete and would be donated to the people soon. For boosting the pilgrimage tourism of the area, The Minister visited the heritage shrines of Khawja Shab at Manglora and Khaja Ali Almas shrine at Wasun Bangil and directed the Director tourism Kashmir to develop public park , bathrooms, latrines for the respective shrines so that Zairians could not face any problem. The Minister are accompanied by Director Tourism, Kashmir, Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir , General Manager JKPCC and other senior officers of R&B, J&KPCC and Tourism. |
