Situation sensitive in Assam, centre must intervene: JKNPP | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 2: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) has urged central government to urgently intervene in Assam to restore peace, communal harmony with return and rehabilitation of nearly 400,000 displaced Bodo and Muslim migrants in the interest of National Security and human dignity. He made this statement in Gauhati Press Club after concluding three day hectic visit to conflict torn Assam districts of Kokrajhar and Dhubri bordering Bangladesh. Singh met hundreds of displaced persons living in scattered school buildings. "During the visit to several migrant camps in the districts of Kokrajhar and Dhubri districts, we understand that the situation in the bordering areas of Assam is very sensitive and serious. This is neither a communal problem nor a religious off shoot," Singh said. He added that the Muslim migrants are campaigning in, mostly, schools buildings of Dhubri district. He maintained that JKNPP shall prepare an exclusive report for the Prime Minister on the situation so that the Prime Minister convenes a meeting of the National Integration Council on the resolution of the situation in Assam with active participation of all the political groups and parties of Assam. |
