| Encounter between Security Forces, Militants in J&K | | | early times report
SRINAGAR, Aug 2: Security forces today launched a search operation at a village in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, triggering a brief gun battle with hiding ultras, officials said. An encounter took place in Rajwar belt of Handwara, 80kms from here, after security forces launched a search operation to flush out militants, the officials said.
They said there was no immediate report of any causality on the either side in the gunfight which lasted for a brief period.Reinforcements have been rushed to the area and a hunt was on to nab the militants, the officials said.
