Bhalla reviews progress of 50 MVA transformer installation work | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 3: To cater the need of power in Gandhi Nagar, Chhani Himmat, Nanak Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Sainik Colony, Bathindi, Transport Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Bahu Fort, Residency Road and Panjthirthi, Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla today said that government has allocated Rs. 5 crore for augmentation of 132/33 KV transformation capacity from 100 MVA to 150 MVA at Gladni Grid Station at Narwal. This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the PDD officers at a meeting held at summer secretariat after inspecting pace of progress on 50 MVA ambitious projects being installed at Gladni Grid Station at Narwal. Chief Engineer Shehnaz Goni, Chief Engineer, System and Operation Ajay Gupta besides other senior engineers of Power Development Department were present on the occasion. Bhalla said people of city of temples have faced lot of hardships due to prevailing hot weather conditions and unscheduled power cuts during summer season, adding that keeping in view to improve power scenario, the Government has approved Rs. 200 crore for purchase of additional power. He said from yesterday about 400 MW power has been increased and supplied to the people of Jammu district, adding that in this vital decision, fluctuation free and regular power has been provided in the metered as well as others areas of the city of temples.Minister said the bottlenecks of additional curtailment due to capacity at Grid Station of around 40 MW shall be overcome with the completion of installation and commissioning of 50 MVA, 132/33 KV transformer. This shall, however, be limited to only capacity constraint and shall not absolve the unrestricted demand of the areas which is being met through routine curtailment of 3 hours in metered areas and 8 hours in rural areas. In order to overcome overloading on receiving stations at Ashok Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Canal Satwari line, Sainik Colony, Greater Kailash, Nanak Nagar, Chatha, Gaddigarh and 33 KV lines in Jammu district, Bhalla said for this purpose government has earmarked Rs. 768.67 lakh for segregation of AN-2 and AN-4 feeders by way of installation of new 11 KV VCB panel alongwith accessories, thickening, Re-conductoring of 33 KV canal-Satwari line and augmentation from 1x6.3 MVA to 2x6.3. |
