Anantnag, Feb 05
the expose of series of fake encounter cases coming to light during last few days is becoming Gordian knot for the government as people from various areas have started speaking openly about the encounters they doubt as fake in their respective areas. Ashmuqam residents have come up with a similar compliant of killing of two labrours from Doda district in their area in the month of June last year.
According to locals, the victims who were working as labrours in the area for a long time were taken into custody by Special Operation Group Pahalgam in the month of June and were not seen after that.
Locals told News Agency of Kashmir that soon after the labrours disappeared, SOG wing deployed in the area claimed to have killed two foreign militants in the forests of Grandh just two and half kilometers from Ashmuqam. Later the bodies of the militants
were buried at Ashmuqam Grave yard. However the people of the area protested against the killings as they doubt that the SOG is dubbing the two laborers picked by the Personnel two days back as foreign militants.
After the burial, the relatives of the labrour duo came to Ashmuqam to know their where about. They approached Police Station Ashmuqam but instead of giving them any clue about the labrours, police picked the scabes off their wounds by harassing them, locals added.
Since the fake encounter killings has snowballed in a major issue attracting the attention of entire world, the residents of Ashmuqam have also demanded the exhumation of bodies of two persons dubbed by police as militants to ascertain their real identity .
