"In less than three years from 2002 to 2005 that PDP was in power the state got only misrule of the worst kind of corruption taking the J&K state to number two position after Bihar in the country, sex scandal, forest scam, Amarnath land row and weakening of democratic institution and the hilling of scares of innocent people," Dr Kamaal said while addressing people in Jammu. He stressed the workers to gear up and mobilize their cadre to spread the policy and prorgamme of the NC and the achievements of the Omar Abdullah led coalition government. "The NC has been at the forefront in espousing the cause of the people and has worked tirelessly for their emancipation with success with it's leaders suffering long imprisonments trials and tribulations particularly the founder Sher-I- Kashmir late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and his comrades in arms," he added. The NC leader said that it was the need of the hour now to close ranks and thwart attempts of "our detractors to harm us." He expressed his dismay at the lack of development and essentials of life like electricity, roads, dispensary, degree college as a result of neglect by the local MLA for the last two decades. "The remedy to this utter neglect and strong arms selfish tactics of the MLA is to give the panthers party an ignominious defeat in 2014 elections," said Kamaal. He re-affirmed NC's commitment for greater autonomy and Indo-Pak peace and friendship. |
