| CRPF man arrested, SP Assures probe in all missing cases | | | Vayil (Kokernag) Feb 05 While Additional Superintendent of Police today assured protesters that all the missing cases shall be reopened and fair investigation conducted, a Central Reserve Police Force constable was today arrested after he fired some rounds of bullets while on guard at the protest rally in Vayil Kokernag in south Kashmir Anantnag district. ASP Ananatnag, who arrived at the scene calmed down the angry mob and assured them that all missing cases shall be probed into and culprits brought to book. "Police is collecting details about the missing persons in this district and thorough enquiries shall be carried out in all such cases," Said the ASP, Javed Iqbal Matoo. Meanwhile, head constable Ram Lal was ruthlessly beaten by angry protesters after he fired in air. He was later arrested by police and an FIR registered against him. "The fire was unnecessary. No one doing an unlawful act," said an angry protester. "They (security personnel) do such acts without provocation." Eyewitnesses said that the trooper grew restless on seeing the thousands of protesters and fired. The gun shots, however, caused no damage.
