| Grand Inter-District Police-Public meet organised | | | early times report
udhampur, Aug 6: Udham- -pur Police in collaboration with the general public organized a grand inter-district Police Public meet at Sankhpal near Sannasar. About 15000 people belonging to district Udhampur, Ramban, Doda and Reasi participated in the meet. SP Benam Tosh, DSP(P) Furqan Qadri, SHO P/S Pancheri Nishant Gupta, SI(P) Purab Singh and SI(P) Lakhvinder Singh, other officers of Ramban Police besides Retd. ZEO Rattan Singh Rasal, Sarpanch Katti Bimal Kumar, Sarpanch Landar Rajinder Kumar, Sarpanch Sadota Jeevan Kumar Sharma, Lamberdar Dharam Singh Kultair, Lambardar Purani Bhuti Rattan Singh and Ex. Sarpanch Ramban Dharam Singh were present on the occasion.
Among the main demands highlighted by the people include providing of water and electricity facility at the site of famous Sankhpal Shrine for the use of devotees especially on the days of festivals, road connectivity upto Sankhpal either from Lander to Sankhpal via Lolanpati or from Katti to Sankhpal via Lada-ladi, erecting of fabricated/other huts and construction of community hall to save the people during adverse weather conditions, entering Sankhpal land in proper revenue records and above all bringing the area on tourist map and affecting development expeditiously. Benam Tosh in his address thanked the people for better coordination with police and for taking part in the meet in such a large number organised for the first time at this high altitude peak.
Tosh further asked the local youth to stay away from superstitions which ultimately leads to suicides and are black spot on the modern society.
