| Locals block Budha Amarnath road, protests against PHE | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Aug 6. The vehicular traffic suddenly came to a halt on the ever busy Poonch Budha Amarnath road, when hundreds of villagers of Chaktroo came on road and blocked the road as they lodged their strong protest against the inefficiency of PHE Department Poonch.
They alleged that the Dug Well which was constructed by the Department is not working and this causes water shortage in Chaktrroo area. They raised slogans against the PHE authorities and District administration. Most of the employees who were going to their work, returned to Poonch as no traffic was allowed by the protestors to proceed further.
Later AEE, PHE and some senior officers of District Administration rushed to the spot and assured the protestors that their genuine concern would be addressed shortly and on their assurance, the protestors called off their strike. |
