| Kathua people aghast over vandalism of public street | | | early times report
Kathua, Aug 6 : The situation turned grim when the Residents of ward no.1 of Kathua blocked the college road for more than one hour in protest against the illegal construction on public street by some people.
While the Kathua police under the supervision of SHO Kathua B.S Manhas intervened and played very impressive and effective role to pacify the tension and convinced the people to lift the dharna, the irate residents opposed the illegal occupation of the public road by extending the area of private land by some person.
Reports said some persons started construction on the public street in ward no.1 for drainage purpose in total violation of laws.
The concerned people also blamed the Kathua Municipal Council which ` is playing to the tunes of some people'.
The protesting people also claimed that the person who was occupying the public street is also residing in same ward since long and has managed a fake State Subject certificate.
They also urged the authorities tp probe the document. In the protest Ex Municipal Councilor Tarsem Lal, Sonu, Ex-Chairman Kathua Municipal Council Rajinder Singh, and others also demanded the enquiry of Municipal Council Kathua in case of passing the maps of Shopping Malls and commercial buildings without parking in Kathua. |
