Meanwhile, reports said Pak army has also violated ceasefire in Poonch district. BSF officials giving information said that Pakistani troops late tonight opened heavy firing on Pansar Manyari border post, just 5 kilometer away from village Chadwal. "The heavy firing from small arms continued for the first 15 minutes, became intermittent later and continued," an official source said. The incident took place when the BSF troops were performing duty at Naka No 14,15 and Pillar No 135. The injured BSF troops of 168 battalion identified as Bavneet Singh of Gurdaspur (Pb.) and Hari Mohan of Kanpur, UP were rushed to the Sub District Hospital for treatment. Bavneet received bullet injuries in his left arm while Hari Mohan received bullet on his back. Senior BSF officials who reached on the spot after having first hand information of firing told Early Times that it was a grenade explosion first that was followed by heavy firing from small arms which was promptly retaliated. The cross firing was in progress till late hours. Some senior officers of BSF reportedly were rushing to the spot. According to officials, there is no loss of life in the firing which "is usually done by Pakistan to give cover to infiltrators". The BSF is carrying out intense searches in the area to find if anyone infiltrated into India. Meanwhile, Pak troops opened small arms firing in Indian Forward Defended Locations (IFDLs) in Kerni sector of the border district of Poonch. Reports said that the firing started at around 7.30 this evening which witnessed some intervals. No loss of life or injury was reported in this firing," sources said. It needs to mention here that keeping in view the Independence Day celebrations, the Indian troops on the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) are on high alert, while militants are trying desperate attempts to infiltrate in from launch pads across border. It may be mentioned here that there have been more than 250 ceasefire violations by Pakistan since 2006 and 18 this year. India and Pakistan had agreed for ceasefire on frontiers in November 2003, considered amongst the pivotal confidence building measures between the two countries.
