| Upper House pays tributes to Thakur | | | Jammu, February 5 Chairman Legislative Council Mr. Abdul Rashid Dar today move obituary reference on the demise of Shri Devi Dass Thakur, an eminent Supreme Court Lawyer, former Judge of the High Court, former Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of the State and Governor of Assam. Paying tribute to his valuable services he rendered in different capacities to the people. The House prays for the peace of departed soul and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
The House also expresses its deep sorrow and anguish on the killings of Abdul Rehman Padder, Ghulam Nabi Wani, Ali Mohammad Padder of Kokernag and Showkat Ahmad Kataria of Banihal and shares the grief of their loved ones.
Miss Sakina Ittoo, Mr. P.Y. Namgiyal, Mr. Basharat Ahmad Bukhari, Prof. Bhim Singh and Mr. A. R. Tukroo spoke in the obituaring and paid tributes to Late Thakur. Two minutes silence was observed in the House and Chairman Legislative Council Mr. Abdul Rashid Dar adjourned the House for ten minutes.
