| NC, PDP indulge in mud slinging over fake encounters | | | Jammu, Feb 05 Amid uproar and pandemonium, Peoples Democratic Party and National Conference indulged in mud slinging blaming each other for killing of civilians in the state. The members of arc rival Valley based parties were on their feet holding each other responsible for innocent killings during their respective regimes. Soon after Speaker moved an Obituary reference to condole the death of former deputy Chief minister Devi Das Thakur and asked Opposition Leader Abdul Rahim Rather to speak on the Reference, PDP member Hassan Mir supported by Sartaj Madni, Hassan Khan and Zahoor Ahmed Mir demanded that an obituary reference should also be moved for those who have been killed in fake encounters. The demand infuriated the NC members leading to allegations and counter allegations from either side amid uproar and Pandemonium. Speaker Tara Chand made repeated attempts to restore order but PDP members continue to press for their demand. While National Conference members accused them of shedding crocodile tears, Peoples Democratic Party members said that it is they who have constituted Special Operation Group responsible for the fake encounters. Accusing PDP of politicizing the issue, opposition Members were heard accusing PDP members of shedding crocodile tears as it during their government that so many people were killed in fake encounters. The allegations from either side continued till Chief Minister intervened and asked coalition members not to raise any other issue when the House was paying tributes to a great leader. .(NAK) CM deplores ‘foundation laying’ politics Jammu, Feb 05 (NAK): Peoples Democratic Party has to face great embracement when Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad openly accused Mufti Led Coalition for laying foundation stones without having funds in hand. Chief Minister during his reply on the demands of grants for the departments under his charge said that foundation stones of college buildings in Ramban, Bijbehara, Billawar and Uri have been laid despite having no funds in hand for these projects. Chief Minster made the revelations when he was interrupted by Abdul Rehman Veeri to know the status of work on Bijbhihara college building. Giving details of the status of work on buildings for 22 newly set up colleges, he said many a times a foundation stone is laid with out availability of funds just to win public applause. He said such practices are not in the interest of any one as it could harm the credibility of the entire institution of public representatives.
