VRS-SRTC Employees protest for their demands | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 8: All J&K SRTC Volunteers Retirement Employees Association led by its president Dev Raj Bali, held demonstration and a sit in dharna at Press Club exhibition ground, today. Led by Dev Raj Bali-President VRS Union and Surinder Singh-General Secretary the protesters criticized the attitude of the J&K SRTC Management and J&K Finance Department for not releasing 26 slab COLA w.e.f. 15th Jan.2006 and pending arrears since 1999 and 6th Pay Commission w.e.f. 15t Jan.2006 whereas in service employees and flesh retired employees have been getting this benefit and only the 670 VRS employees have not been considered for this whereas they have given their prime youth in rendering services of the J&K SRTC. The protestors also alleged that for the three years J&K SRTC management had swallowed Rs.22.50 crores for three years which were released vide J&K Govt. order NO.237 -F of 2010 dated 30.08.2010 for clearance of the VRS employees dues and dues to VRS employees have not been paid. They appealed to the Chief Minister J&K State to probe into the scam through Vigilance so that the real culprits who had swallowed this money come to light and strict legal course of action can be initiated against them who are responsible for this. Speakers also said that the association is against the policy of increasing the age of retirement from 58 years to 60 years and if this is implemented then the graph of unemployment will steep up to a height and if this be passed we will strongly protest by staging dharnas and protests against this wrong policy. In the meeting among others there were Balwinder Singh, D.N.Sharma, Sain Mohd, B.V. Sharma, Asan Elahi, Surjit Singh, Gulshan Singh, Jasbir Singh and others. |
