| Pay income tax before fixed due date : ITC | | | Jammu, Aug 8 : Commissioner of Income Tax, Jammu and Kashmir Circle Arun Kumar Thatai today appealed the masses to pay their income tax before the fixed due date.
Speaking in an interaction with the media persons, Commissioner said this afternoon said that the last date to file Income Tax return has been extended to August 31. "The last date of the submission of the advance tax is Sept 15 and assesses should deposit the advance tax for the financial year of 2012-13," appealed the IT Commissioner. He further said that the department has collected an amount of Rs 617.75 crore in the 2011-2012 financial year.
"Against the target of Rs 580 crore, the IT department succeeded in generating Rs 617.75 crores in the 2011-12 financial year," Thatai added. The IT Commissioner said that in the current financial year, the target has been fixed of Rs 656.43 crores, which would surely be achieved. He however, said that against net amount of Rs 4.56 crore t be collected from the defaulters, the department has succeeded only in getting Rs one crore. |
