| 19 school vans seized for illegal use of LPG cylinders in R S Pura | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 8 : Taking strong notice of illegal use of LPG gas cylinder putting school going children at risk, the Police today seized 19 school transport vehicles while police have made school administration of three top R.S Pura based schools namely Nagbani R S Pura, the Montisuri and a local convent school answerable for sideling the set norms for school transport, sources said..
Police sources said that administration the said schools have sidelined rules and regulations aside by putting the school children on risk of accidents due to overloading and illegal use of LPG cylinders.
"Following repeated complaints about alleged overloading and illegal use of LPG cylinder that too meant for the domestic use is rampant in border areas, police sources said, adding that police laid special nakas and seized nineteen school transport vehicles.
Police sources said, "The drivers of these vehicles were also booked and arrested on various grounds which including traffic violation and using of unauthorized LPG cylinders in the vehicles."
Police sources said that, on specific information RS Pura police led by SHO Tahir Hussain laid various nakas and seized overloaded school children vehicles. The team seized the vehicles bearing regd nos: JK02AC/0439, JK02AB/6652, JK02F/7897, JK026/8995, JK13/04006, JK02N/9901, JK02C/1848, JK02X/1509, JK02H/2474, JK02H/8599, JK02F/4385, JK02V/8616, JK02H/5426, JK02Q/2577, JK02M/2652, JK02F/3931, JK02G/0284 and JK02K/7126.
SDPO R S Pura Devakar Singh when contacted confirmed the reports and said that a case under FIR NO 137/2012 under 37 Essential Commodity Act has been registered. He further said that management of the schools has been apprised for further investigation. |
