| VOJ unearths misappropriation of over 600 qtls of Food grains | | | Jammu, Aug 10 (JNF) : In a joint-surprise checking conducted to verify the misappropriation of APL/BPL food grains by way of issuance of excess food grains for to far-flung ration depots and preparation of fictitious ration documents against Tehsil Supply Officer Billawar and others. The Joint surprise check revealed that during the period April 2009 to February, 2010 food-grains/ ration had been received by TSO Billawar from Asst Director CAPD Kathua for disbursement to different categories of population under APL/BPL leaving in far-flung area of Malhar and Kandli as per prescribe sale, while as 653.32 qtl of excess APL/BPL food grains had been shown dispatched to these ration depots of Malhar and Kandli for distribution amongst the beneficiaries but had actually been misappropriated by CAPD Billawar himself.
According to the surprise check it transpired that during the above-said period by abuse of their official position in pursuance of conspiracy hatched among themselves, quantity of 558.98 qtls of APL food grain and 94.34 qtl of BPL food grain were shown issued to CAPD Depot Malhar and Kandli.
According to the surprise check conducted by VOJ reveals that Amar Singh then TSO Billawar and Jaswant Singh then Store-keeper of main CAPD store Billawar in lieu with Lakshman Dass then Salesman of Malhar Dept and Beli Ram then Sales of Kandli Depot and contractors Bishan Dass & Sukh Ram, an amount of Rs 1, 46 524/ fictitious carriage charges have been misappropriated and registered FIR u/s 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(1) (c) r/w 5(2) J&K PC Act 2006 BK and 120-B/409 RPC and started investigation in the case. |
