Majalta development Committee seeks Degree College | | | Early Times Report MAJALTA, Aug 13: All Parties Tehsil Development Committee, Majalta has further resolved to spur up efforts to canvass for a Degree College at Majalta. It has further resolved to employ all peaceful ways of agitation, picketing, canvassing and other sorts of mean in order to coerce the government regarding provision of a Degree College at Majalta. The members of the Committee have further decried the attitude and conduct of few opportunist and cheap political leaders who have tried to mislead the local people on the issue of providing Degree College at Majalta. It is pertinent to mention that in the wake of neglect of Majalta while announcing Degree Colleges throughout the state somewhat an year back, an all-party conglomerate was constituted with R. S. Pathania, Youth Congress leader as its president. The plea of TDC Majalta as well as common people of Majalta continues that Majalta is the most-deserving case throughout the entire state for setting up a Degree College. Right on the 100 km stretch from Udhampur to Deoli (Billawar), there is no Degree College for the pass-outs of Higher Secondary level. A proposed Degree College at Majalta shall benefit pass-outs of as many as dozen-odd Higher Secondary Schools of Majalta as well as bordering areas of four adjoining Tehsils - Jammu, Samba, Billawar and Ramnagar tehsils. Whereas octogenarian founder of the all-party conglomerate, Th. Ranjit Singh, Kusum Jasrotia, Joint Secretary, Shankar Dass Office Secretary, Haji Mohd Din, coordinator/Secretary, Mohan Lal Sharma sarpanch, Bodh Raj sarpanch, Sharan Singh sarpanch, Rameshwar Sharma, Faleil Singh, Mulkh Raj, Charan dass, Babu Ram, Prem Nath and other executive members of the all-party committee remained present and shared their opinions on the subject. |
