| Police arrests 5 Gamblers in Nowgam | | |
Srinagar, Feb 05
In its continuous onslaught against the menace of gambling, Nowgam police has arrested five gamblers and registered a case against them.
Official sources told News Agency of Kashmir that on specific information, Nowgam Police arrested five gamblers from Kanipora and recovered Rs 1400 kept at stake, along with a pack of cards.
The arrested have been identified as Tariq Ahmed Thoker son of Abdul Rashid R/o Kanipora, Gowher Sidiq Kawa son of Mohammed Sidiq of Kanipora, Shabir Ahmed Bhat son of Mohammed Akbar resident of Kanipora, Shabir Ahmed Wani son of Gh. Nabi R/O Kanipora and Firdous Ahmed Hajam son of Gh. Nabi of Kanihama Nowgam. Case FIR No: 13/2007, U/S 13 Gambling Act stands registered in this regard.
It is pertinent to mention here that this arrest of gamblers comes in the heels of another incident in which 4 gamblers were arrested by Nowgam police on January 31 |
