Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 13: To protest against the alleged discrimination by the state government in sanctioning the posts of Assistant Professors for Degree Colleges and delay in joining of the selected teachers, the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) will hold dharnas on August 27 at District level in Jammu region
Announcing this at a press conference here today, JKNPP president and MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia said that Congress-National Conference coalition government is neglecting Jammu region in creation of employment opportunities for the youth of this region and development activities also. He said that a Cabinet decision on creation of Assistant Professors for the Government Degree College vide No. 317-HE-12 dtd. 3-08-2012 is self explanatory and speaks of anti-Jammu mindset of the Cong and NC. While government created 700 vacancies for Kashmir region, Jammu region got only about 400 posts. Mankotia cautioned the government against such discriminatory decisions warning of agitational path for equitable share in the employment and developmental activities adding that governance was nowhere in sight. The selection list of teachers has been published since May last but the candidates from all districts of the state except from Ganderbal, the home constituency of Chief Minister have not been able to join in the absence of Government orders. Mankotia said that JKNPP would hold district level dharnas on August 27 to protest against the government's apathetic attitude and if the government failed to resolve the issue, a detailed agitational programme would be chalked out. Meanwhile, JKNPP Working Chairman and MLA Ramnagar, Harsh Dev Singh has strongly flayed the SSRB for non release of select lists of various categories of posts of Jammu region referred to it during the last two years for recruitment. In a press statement issued here , Singh questioned in particular to inordinate delay in the release of lists of Draftsmen, Accounts Assistants, and teachers whose interviews were conducted in 2010-11.
