Court awards life-imprisonment to triple murder accused | | | early times report JAMMU, Aug 13 (JNF): 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Subash C Gupta today awarded life-imprisonment and fine of Rs 4000 to Anand Kumar Singh, who murdered three persons including an Inspector at Chief Minister's House, Jammu. 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Subash C Gupta after hearing Additional Public Prosecutor KA Qazi for the state whereas Adv OP Sharma appearing for the accused person observed that accused namely Anand Kumar Singh would have been motivated for committing murder on coming to know that he would not be allowed to go on leave for solemnizing marriage of his younger sister and have to face departmental inquiry. He is considered as menace to the families of deceased/ victims and not to the society at large. According to the prosecution case that Head Constable Kailash Baitha, , 4th Bn. CRPF, D Company, deployed in CM House, Jammu, lodged a written report with the Police Station, Peer Mitha, Jammu, inter-aila containing that on April 3, 2006, Constable, Anand Kumar Singh, belonging to his Company, posted in C.M-House at Wazarat Road, Jammu, on the basis of old enemity, caused the death of Inspector Shyam, by making fire shots from his Insas Rifle. He also killed Havaldar Joginder Jha and Havaldar H.N Pandey, when they tried to catch him. Thereafter, he fled away from the spot along with weapon, issued to him . On the basis of the aforesaid written report, P/S Peer Mitha, lodged FIR, vide its no. 18/2006 fu/ss 302 RPC and 30 Arms Act. Investigation conducted by Rajinder Kumar Bhardwaj, then SHO, P/S Peer Mitha,Jammu. Accused was arrested and on his disclosure statement, weapon of offence-Insas Rifle, magazine, containing four live rounds and one pouch containing two magazines, each having twenty live rounds, were recovered and seized. Blood stained clothes and one boot(Jungle shoe) worn by the accused were seized. which were got re-sealed from the Executive Magistrate, and thereafter, sent to FSL,Jammu, for chemical examination. Statements of the witnesses, were recorded in terms of Section 161 Cr.P.C. Accused was interrogated. After investigation, police proved the commission of offences u/ss 302 RPC and 30 Arms Act and presented challan in the Court of law. |
