2/6/2007 12:26:13 AM
JAMMU FEB-05 ‘Congress led coalition government in the state has nothing to hide on the human rights issue’, said Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Chief, Peerzada Mohammed Sayeed adding that ‘any one found involved in it shall not be spared’.
In a statement issued here today, the PCC Chief said that situation in the trouble torn Jammu and Kashmir has improved to a great extent since the Congress took over the reigns of power in the state, ‘a loud and clear message has been sent to all concerned to respect the human rights and follow the rule of law’. It has been made clear that there shall be ‘zero tolerance’ to any case of human rights violation, he maintained. ‘This has been established in the recent case of alleged fake encounter when an exemplary and transparent action has been initiated’, the PCC President said.
Taking strong exception to certain political parties and groups trying to play politics on this issue, he said, that they should, rather, appreciate and welcome the bold and immediate action taken by the Azad Government in this behalf.
Peerzada also questioned the separatists and militant leaders, who are squarely responsible for the present situation as also for the miseries of the people of the state, especially Kashmir Valley, ‘not to take undue advantage of these issues, the statement said.
Welcoming change in the approach of Pakistan and some separatist leaders for rejecting gun, the PCC Chief said ‘since realization has dawned upon Pakistan due to changing global scenario, the people must come forward to make the peace process a great success to end the miseries and bloodshed in the state’, he opined.
