Educational institutions celebrate 66th

JAMMU, Aug 16: Educational Institutions celebrated 66th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. Students presented cultural items including patriotic songs, dances and speeches to mark the celebrations of the day.
Patriotic songs, releasing of balloons and distribution of sweets marked the celebration of 66th Independence Day at University of Jammu. Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, hoisted the National Flag at Fountain Plaza in presence of University officials. In his message, Prof Ishar said that we got independence from British Colonial Raj, after over 200 years of foreign rule. He also highlighted the role of martyrs for making India free from the clutches of Britishers.
Earlier, security staff of Jammu University led by Captain SR Dubey, Security Officer and Ashutosh Sharma DSP (JUG) presented guard of honour.
Among others present were Prof RD Sharma, Prof Neelam Saraf, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof Rekha Choudhary, Dean Research Studies, Prof Naresh Padha, Registrar, Prof MK Dhar, Controller of Examination, Prof Desh Bandhu, Director, College Development Council, Prof Jasbir Singh, Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee, Prof Kuldeep K Sharma, Head, Department of Zoology, Prof Kulwant Singh, Head, Department of Law, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, Prof Neeru Sharma, Co-Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Rector, Kathua Campus, Prof JS Tara, Director, Poonch Campus, Prof Dalip Singh, President, JUTA, Rectors, Deans, Heads of the Teaching Departments, faculty members, Officers, Staff, presidents of the respective Associations, scholars and students. Earlier, Security staff of Jammu University led by Captain SR Dubey, Security Officer and Ashutosh Sharma DSP (JUG) presented Guard of Honour. 66th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour at Government Polytechnic for Women. Principal Ritu Jamwal unfurled the National Flag in presence of Bodh Raj Verma, ex-secretary, State Board of Technical Education, Kuldip Raj Sharma and KG Gupta, ex-Principal, students and faculty members. Government College of Education celebrated 66th Independence Day. Principal Dr Kaushal Smotra hoisted the National Flag, in presence of students, teaching and non-teaching employees. KCS College of Education (Women) celebrated 66th Independence Day with gaiety and fervour. Principal of the College OP Sharma hoisted the National Flag, followed by National Anthem and cultural programme.
Dogra Law College celebrated 66th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and zeal. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust hoisted the National Flag in presence of Prof VK Kapoor, Director/ Principal Dogra Law College, Sureshtha Manhas, Warden, Dogra College Girls Hostel, students and teaching staff. 66th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour at Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Raipur, Bantalab. President, Hindu Education Society Kashmir Anil Dhar hoisted the National Flag, followed by cultural extravaganza by the students.

Lavish Social and Educational Trust Jammu celebrated independence day with great fervor and enthusiasm Vinod Pandita, chairman of the trust while speaking on the occasion explained in depth the importance of the day and paid rich tributes the martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of the country and Nation. The 66th Independence Day was celebrated at RM College with patriotic fervour. Trustee of the college Rita Mengi and Principal PK Dhar hoisted the National Flag, in presence of students and faculty members.
Tawish College of Education, Channi Rama, celebrated 66th Independence Day with zeal and enthusiasm. Chairman of the College, Pooja Malhotra hoisted the National Flag in presence of students and faculty members. Independence Day was celebrated at Bhargawa Institute of Education, Samba with patriotic fervour. Parkash Sharma, district president Congress along with college Principal Vidya Sagar Hans hoisted the National Flag, followed by cultural programme by the students.
Ramisht College of Education, Basohli celebrated 66th Independence Day with patriotic fervour. Chairman of the college Rajinder Parshad hoisted the National Flag, followed by cultural programme by the students. Saraswati College of Education celebrated 66th Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. The Chairman of the college Rajesh Sharma hoisted the National Flag, followed by cultural programme by the students. BSF School, Paloura celebrated 66th Independence Day with gusto and zeal. Chairman of the school, IG BSF, Rajeev Krishna hoisted the National Flag in presence of Dr SS Khokhar, Principal followed by National Anthem. Army Goodwill Public School, Rajouri celebrated 66th Independence Day with patriotic fervour. Major General KH Singh, GOC, Ace of Spades Division and Patron unfurled the National Flag, in presence of Brigadier SQ Ahmed, Commander, Ace of Spades Artillery Brigade and Chairman, students, faculty members and local populace. Delhi Public School, Jammu celebrated 66th Independence Day with zeal and enthusiasm. Principal of the school unfurled the National Flag, followed by cultural show including patriotic songs and dances by the students. Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar celebrated 66th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and gaiety. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak hoisted the National Flag, followed by cultural programme by the students. Kotwal National Institute of Teaching (KNIT), Bharat Nagar, Talab Tillo celebrated 66th Independence Day. Prof JL Kotwal, Director hoisted the National Flag. Patriotic songs and choruses was another feature of the programme while thought provoking speeches were presented by faculty and students. 66th Independence Day was celebrated with fervour at the Valley View Army Public School, Rajouri. Major General KH Singh, GOC 25 Infantry Division hoisted the National Flag along with Brigadier SQ Ahmed, Station Commander Rajouri Garrison, students and parents. Students presented cultural programme. To mark 66th Independence Day celebrations, Banyan International School took a quantum leap to instill amongst its students a sense of social environment responsibility. On the occasion, Colonel G Shanker inaugurated the "Herbal Park" in the school premises by planting a sapling in presence of Monika Sethi, Vice Principal, students and faculty members.
66th Independence Day was celebrated at Project Model Higher Secondary School, Janipur. On the occasion, cultural programme, poetry recitation contest, group dance competition and symposium were held, in which students participated actively.
Guru Hari Krishan Public School, Nanak Nagar celebrated Independence with fervour and zeal. Director of the school Colonel GS Soodan unfurled the National Flag, followed by National Anthem. Crescent Public School, Janipur celebrated 66th Independence Day with great pomp and show. Arshad Choudhary, Chairman of the School hoisted the tricolour in presence of Tasneem Kouser, Managing Director, Rajinder Singh Pathania, Principal, Vijay Pandita, Co-ordinator staff members and parents. Students presented colourful cultural bonanza on the occasion. Alexander Memorial School too celebrated 66th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. State commissioner cum secretary , Bharat Scouts and Guides , hoisted the national flag in presence of Principal Esther William along with faculty members of the school.
Carmel Convent High School, Kunjwani Bye Pass, celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour. The National flag was hoisted by Harjeet Singh, president, NNO in presence of Principal Maria Suzette. Students presented cultural items including patriotic songs. Euro Care, Trikuta Nagar organised a Patriotic Rhyme competition to celebrate Independence Day. Ritu Beri, Principal hoisted the National Flag.
