| Army chief visits Ladakh | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Aug 17: Gen Bikram Singh, Chief of the Army Staff arrived at Leh on a three day visit to Ladakh.
This is his first visit to the region after taking over as Army Chief on 31 May 12. He was received at Leh airfield by Lt Gen KT Parnaik, GOC-in-C Northern Command and Lt Gen Rajan Bakhshi, GOC 14 Corps.
Chief had a detailed interaction with the Army Commander and the Corps Commander and was briefed on prevailing security environment, infrastructure development projects and various initiatives undertaken by the Army in Ladakh Region.
The Chief expressed his satisfaction over the operational preparedness of the formation.
Army Chief will visit forward deployment areas in Siachen Glacier and Eastern Ladakh during next two days of his stay. |
