| Kathua people apprehend more mishaps | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Aug 17: Alleging district administration adopting unresponsive and cold approach towards the rising road mishaps in district roads, the Kathua people apprehend more road tragedies like that of Govindsur Road near CTM factory in Kathua in which four people were mauled to death by a truck. Recalling the road tragedy, some locals alleged that administration has adopted a nelson's eye attitude towards the growing kiosks and temporary markets along the Jammu Pathankot Highway resulting into encouragement to unauthorized markets mushrooming due to this approach. "The role of district administration can be understood from the fact that from years, the administration has been informed of the problem of encroachment time and again but all in vain, they alleged. Further alleging some Kathua people pin pointed that the many commercial and government complexes have come up along College Road but majority of these lack parking facilities forcing the visitors to park their vehicles on the road causing traffic jams. Locals questioned "Who is responsible for the death of innocent people who died just because of the mismanagement of administration". Had administration been attentive towards mushrooming of illegal markets this tragedy may not have happened, they lamented. |
