6th Bn CRPF celebrates I-Day at Katra | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 17: The 6th Bn of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated 66th Independence Day with traditional patriotism and gaiety at Katra to mark the occasion. Commandant 6th Bn CRPF, Sunil Kumar who was special invitee on the occasion unfurled the national Flag and took salute from the CRPF guards. In his address Commandant recalled the die-hard of freedom struggle who sacrificed their lives for independence of India from the foreign rulers. He advised the CRPF Jawans that it is prime duty of a Jawan to protect the country from any insurgency and always ready to face the internal challenges for the unity in diversity of the country. Exhorting the Jawans to help the pilgrims, Commandant said that it is their privilege that we are serving to the lakhs of pilgrims visiting the holy cave shrine and thus it’s obligatory to be on fore fronts to work their cause. A cultural programme was also presented by CRPF men and underprivileged and orphan children adopted by the philanthropic Non Governmental Organization (NGO) DISHA. The performers left the audience spell bound by their performance completely stuffed with patriotic fervor. Commandant 6th BN CRPF presented awards and mementoes as a token of regards to other special invitees including media personalities and prominent citizens. Sweets were also distributed among the officers and Jawans of the Battalion to mark the nationalistic spirits of the Independence Day.
