SRINAGAR, Aug 17: A brilliant century from Javed Mir today guided UCC Red to a fine 10 runs win over ACC Blues in the ongoing Parvez Qureshi Memorial Cricket Tournament, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association at University of Kashmir ground, here. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, UCC set a target of 217 runs for the loss of six wickets in given 35 overs. In reply, ACC Blues could not reach the required total and exhausted their quota of 35 overs for 206 runs losing nine wickets. Javed Mir played superb innings of 102 runs while Owaid Hamid contributed 28 runs. From ACC Blues, Mohd Ashraf claimed three wickets. Later, ACC could not maintain the required run rate and completed their 35 overs at a score of 206 for nine. Adil Showkat and Ishtiaq Ahmed batted well contributing 61 and 41 runs respectively. From UCC Red, Sameer Ali remained the most successful bowler with five wickets. Today's match was officiated by Samir and Javed Dhawarial as umpires while Javed Ahmed maintained the score.
