Army-CRPF organize Iftar parties in Jammu

Jammu, Aug 17: An Iftar was organized by the Hamirpur Infantry Battalion under the aegis of `Sentinels of Chenab' Brigade, and the Crossed Swords Division at Jaurian today. Meanwhile 38 Bn CRPF also organized an ifaar at Head Quarter Smailpur.
Defence spokesperson Jammu said the Army has been rendering invaluable service to the nation and it has also been an example of multiculturalism and pluralism that has been beautifully woven together by bonds of camaraderie and inherent discipline, from the highest to the lowest echelons of the organisation. In the same spirit, an Iftar was organised for the muslim brethren of the region, during the holy month of Ramzan, and to be a part of the religious observance of Ramzan. The event commenced with the offering of Namaz, followed by the taking of the Iftar with the muslim brethren, who attended in large numbers. The Commander, Sentinels of Chenab Brigade and the Commanding Officer of Hamirpur battalion felicitated the community members by presenting the Holy Quran and also the distribution of sweets to the children. Among others present on the occasion were Magar Hussain Shah, DSP, Akhnoor, Vijay Sharma, Tehsildar Akhnoor, BN Sharma, Kulraj Singh, CDPO, Gharu Ram EO, MC Khaur, Nb Tehsildar Khaur and Jaurian and the Sarpanches of all panchayats of the region. In another similar occasion 38 Bn CRPF today at its Head Quarter location Smailpur, organised Iftar party for the Muslim brethren. At the onset the prayers were held which was followed by the Iftar attended by the Officers and Jawans of the unit alongwith the local people and Imam. Speaking on the occasion Dinesh Singh Chandel, Commandant 38 Bn CRPF reinstated the true secular image of the force. He further added that all religion preaches honesty and values of life, be it personal or professional life. The imam of the mosque and the local residents praised the initiative of the Battalion.
