| Deputations call on CM | | | JAMMU, February 06 Deputations from Homeshalibugh, Ramgarh, Lolab, Budhal, Jammu and other parts of the state called on Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad here today and presented to him their demands. A joint deputation from Harnag, Kundyari, Shole, Taki-Bahrampora, Miniwari and Naidkhun in Homeshalibug constituency of Anantnag district called on Chief Minister and apprised him of their problems and development needs. The deputationists led by Mr. Abdul Gaffar Sofi MLA put forth their demands including providing jobs in railways to those whose land has been acquired for rail project and six months free ration to the farmers whose crops were damaged during last kharief season due to floods and drought. They also pleaded for construction of lift irrigation schemes at Wahpora and Harnag Payeen, upgradation of Arwani-Frasal-Yaripora-Kulgam road and improvement in power supply by way of installation of new transformers and sub-stations. The deputationists hailed steps taken by Mr. Azad during last over one year for over all socio-economic transformation of people of the state particularly those living in far-flung areas. They also appreciated bold decision taken by him for creating new administrative units that would further speed up development process. They also assured their whole-hearted support to Mr. Azad for speedy realization of his vision of khushal Jammu and Kashmir. A deputation comprising Congress leaders and corporators led Mr. Ashok Sharma MLC called on Mr. Azad and presented to him demands of their areas. The deputation among others comprised Mr. Moti Lal Koul, Ch. Vidya Sagar, ex-MLA Th. Puran Singh, Ch. Qamar Hussain, Mirza Muzaffar Baig, Mr. Yash Pal Sharma, Mr. Shashi Sharma, Mr. M. S. Jamwal, Mr. Som Nath and Mr. Rajiv Saraf and corporators Mr. Balwant Kumar Balloo, Mr. Jai Singh and Mr. Dwarika Nath. Another deputation of all parties coordination committee Ramgarh led by its convenor Mr. Yash Pal Sharma called on Chief Minister and urged for creation of tehsil at Ramgarh. They also submitted a memorandum to him in this behalf. Mr. Ashok Sharma MLC was also present. A deputation from Lolab led by Mr. Qaiser Jamshed Lone MLA called on Chief Minister and apprised him of their problems. Another deputation from Budhal led by Th. Puran Singh MLA met Mr. Azad and urged for opening a degree college and creation of rural development block at Budhal. They also pleaded for augmenting drinking water, power supply and irrigation facilities besides construction of link roads and establishing health institutions in the area. Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputations and assured that their demands would be looked into.
