3 gangsters arrested with pistol, sharp edged weapon in City

Jammu, Aug 19: Police today averted a possible clash between two rival gangs in City when it arrested two gangsters who were in possession of one country made pistol and a sharp edged weapon in Kanji House locality near Dogra Hall.
After receiving reliable information that some youths have hatched a conspiracy to eliminate one of their rivals and wandering in Kanji House area, the City Police laid a trap to nab them.
"Two gangsters namely Mohitesh Sharma alias Munna son of Ved Prakash Sharma of Shakti Nagar, Binny Sotra son of Bal Krishan Sotra of Resham Ghar were roaming under suspicious circumstances in the area with an intention to attack their rival gangster identified as Sanju," said sources.
After getting the inputs, a police team led by SHO City Bishnesh Kumar, ICPP Hari Market Rakesh Mani under the direction of SP City Jatinder Singh Johar swung into action and laid a trap in the area and succeeded in arresting the gangsters.
From the possession of one of the gangsters identified as Mohitesh alias Munna, police recovered one country made pistol and 4 cartridges and one sharp edged weapon from his accomplice.
Sources further said that on the revelation of the arrested duo, Police arrested their another associate identified as Balvinder Singh alias Bindu son of Shamsher Singh of Gurdaspur (Pb.) at present Vijay Nagar, Talab Tillo from Surinsar area. He was arrested by joint raids conducted by SHO City and ICPP Sidhra.
SSP Jammu Prabhat Singh when contacted confirmed the reports and said that they were taken to City police station for further interrogation.
Sources said that gangster Munna was wanted in seven other crime related cases which including murder and attempt to murder, while gangster Binny was wanted by Bakshi Nagar police for attempt to murder case.
Police also seized a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AB/7539 used by the criminals.
