BJP asks Delhi to abandon dialogue process with Pak | Hate Terror Campaign | | Rustam JAMMU, Aug 20: Now that it's established that the Pakistani spy agency Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) and Pakistan-supported terrorist organizations like Jamaat-ud-Dawa, Indian Mujahideen, Jamait-i-Islami and so on are behind the ongoing hate terror campaign unleashed to cause fear among the Indian citizens of north-east and trigger communal riots in India with a view to destabilizing the Indian polity, it's time for New Delhi to review its stand on dialogue with Islamabad. Islamabad considers India as its number one enemy. It not only wants to annex Jammu & Kashmir, but also wants to dismember India. It considers Jammu & Kashmir unfinished agenda of partition. It wants to avenge its 1971 defeat at the hands of the Indian Army - defeat that led to the creation of Bangladesh as an independent and sovereign out of Pakistan. It bears recalling that only yesterday Union Home Secretary RK Singh said that most of the rumours which led to the exodus of Indian citizens of northeast from several Indian towns emanated from Pakistan. He used the words "bulk of rumours" while accusing anti-India forces in Pakistan of spreading hate terror. The Home Secretary further said that the images of an incident which happened in Myanmar three and a half month back were circulated in Bangalore from across the border to incite people. As expected, Islamabad took no time in rejecting the Indian stand on the "doctored MMS" which, according to Singh, triggered exodus of Indian citizens of northeast, all non-Muslims, from Bangalore and other cities, including Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Delhi and so on. "Everything happening in India is Pakistan-sponsored is irresponsible statement. Strange to see Indian Home Secretary announcing their investigations in the middle of night," sources said quoting Pakistan officials. "India should share their findings with Pakistan. We will definitely help but announcing something in the middle of night is highly irresponsible," it also said. Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde also talked to his Pakistani counterpart Interior Minister Rehman Malik and sought his support for identifying those who had been spreading hate terror. Malik has reportedly denied reports on the involvement of Pakistan in the said campaign which has created an alarming situation in the country. Pakistan's response had been on expected lines. Islamabad has always feigned ignorance and accused India of dragging Pakistan's name whenever any anti-India development takes place in the country. It is difficult to say if the Manmohan Singh-led UPA Government will learn lessons from the past mistakes and deal with Pakistan like the aggressed upon states deal with the aggressors. In fact, there are reasons to believe that his Government is unlikely to abandon the ongoing dialogue process with Pakistan. It doesn't believe in quid-pro-quo; it doesn't have the necessary political will to handle the rogue and merchant of death and destruction. One can refer to here umpteen instances to show that the Congress-led UPA Government has offended the nation by allowing Pakistan to attack, abuse and ridicule New Delhi and exploit its weak-need policies to promote its own geo-political interests in the region. Convinced that New Delhi might take forward the dialogue process with Pakistan, former BJP national president Venkaiah Naidu came out yesterday with a clear statement that urged New Delhi to review its stand on Pakistan. He said there should be no talks with Pakistan either at Prime Minister-level or Foreign Minister-level, or even foreign secretary-level. He asked Foreign Minister SM Krishna to cancel his scheduled visit to Pakistan. Krishna is scheduled to visit Islamabad in September this year. Besides Naidu, a number of Indian think-tanks have asked New Delhi to snap ties with Pakistan, saying that Islamabad will never change its attitude towards India and that it would be suicidal to talk with it. They have also opined that the Indian foreign policy has only helped Pakistan in creating more troubles for India and it's time to take on Pakistan head on. |
