The last batch comprising 76 Hujaj-i-Kiram including 25 women arrived here today by a special air flight.
At the airport, the Hujaj-i-Kiram were received by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Mr. Basharat Ahmad, Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam, SSP Budgam, SSP Airport, Commissioner Customs, Officers of Airport Authorities besides their Kiths and Kins.
For successful conclusion of departure and arrival of Hajj process 2007, the Divisional Commissioner extended gratitude to the district administration Budgam, Srinagar, Home Guards and Security forces, Airport Authority, Health and Information departments, TRC, Radio Kashmir, Doordarshan and other concerned agencies. He hoped that the administration would continue to extend its support in future also for smooth conduct of Hajj process.
Giving details of Hajj 2006-07, Mr. Basharat said that in all 10656 pilgrims left for Hajj pilgrimage which commenced from November 24, 2006 and concluded on December 25, 2006. Similarly the arrival of Hujaj-i-Kiram started from January 05, 2007 and concluded today, the 6th February 2007. He said despite inclement weather, no Hajj flight was cancelled or postponed.
