Exemplary initiatives taken to address development aspirations of rural folks: Dy CM | Pargwal to get ITI | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 21 : Underlining commitment of the government to upgrade rural infrastructure, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today said exemplary development initiatives have been taken to address the aspirations of those living in far-off and hilly terrains of the State. He said with active support from the Central government mega-development projects have been launched to provide all basic amenities to the rural folks, as available to those living in urban areas. Tara Chand said this while addressing a workers meet cum public rally at Pargwal. Prominent among those who attended the meet included, Former Minister Dr. Ramesh Sharma, General Secretary, PCC Vinod Sharma, District President, Rural Darshan Raina, Secretaries Narinder Sharma and Shamsher Singh. The Deputy Chief Minister said prestigious project of cluster model village, Pargwal is underway and upon completion rural infrastructure of 21 villages covered under the project would be one of the best in the region. He said special package of Rs. 11.75 crore has been announced for the model village and no delay would be tolerated in the project.He said out of the total 340 lanes, the work of laying tiles and lanes and constructing lanes and drains has been completed in over 240 lanes. "The aim of the project is to develop infrastructure and upgrade facilities in the designated villages, so that the inhabitants are provided required facilities like, Public Health Centre, Market Place etc. in the vicinity only," he added. Lauding role of government officers in the project, Tara Chand said dedicated work force plays pivotal role in efficient public delivery system and goes a long way in meeting the expectations of common masses, adding that effective delivery of public services as guaranteed under PSGA is only possible when employees work with zeal, dedication and commitment towards their duties. Drawing attention toward the flagship SKEWPY scheme, the Deputy Chief Minister said youth should take maximum benefit from the scheme and train themselves to be budding entrepreneurs, adding that need of the hour is to look beyond government sector for employment and develop those skills which have good market potential.He said long pending demand of the people of the area for opening an Industrial Training Institute in the area is under active consideration of the government and once started the institute would provide job oriented courses to the youth.He said that 106 Kanals of land at Nai-Basti has been identified for Degree College, Khour and the same would be transferred to the concerned department for early start of the work.He said work on the bridge to connect Pargwal Island with Khour would be started soon at the site already designated. |
